Cagayan to welcome the New Year sober

'Liquor ban begins 12.01 AM of Dec. 31,2020 to 11.59 PM on Jan. 1, 2021'

Cagayan, Philippines ─ Provincial Local Government of Cagayan to strictly imposed Liquor Ban on public places and commercial establishments this December 31,2020 until January 1, 2021 in the province.

Cagayan Provincial Information Office reported that the ban was under the Executive Order No. 36 signed by Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba.

The liquor ban will begin from 12:01 AM on December 31, 2020 to 11:59 PM on January 1, 2021. The ban prohibits drinking or consumption of alcoholic or intoxicating beverages of any kind in public places or in commercial establishments in the province.

It is stated in EO No. 36 that alcohol dulls the senses and relaxes inhibitions, making persons who consume it less deliberate and conscious of their actions and disregard New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day celebration safety regulations, social proprieties, including compliance with the minimum health standards.

According to the report, the ban aims to keep every resident of Cagayan safe in the New Year celebration and to meet minimum health standards and control the possible spread of the COVID-19 virus in the province during the holidays.
