CAVRAA 2023 kicks off in Isabela with grand ceremony

Isabela, Philippines – Athletes representing the provinces and cities in Cagayan Valley once again gathered to play for a place in the 2023 Palarong Pambansa to be held in Marikina City in July.


The nine delegations wearing different colors blended together at the Ilagan City Sports Complex during the opening ceremony of the 2023 Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association(CAVRAA) meet this April 24.


The opening was marked with a grand parade, a formal program, a fireworks display, and a performance from singer-actress Angeline Quinto.

Different sports games began right after the program.


As of 12 noon of April 25, the Province of Cagayan has the highest number of medal haul with 45. Seventeen of the figure is gold medals, 18 are silver, and 10 are bronze.


The Province of Isabela came next with 36 medals (18-10-8), followed by Nueva Vizcaya with 21 (3-5-13).


CAVRAA 2023 will close on April 28.
