City Chief of Police in Davao Oriental is from Tanudan, Kalinga

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Miles away from home, an iKalinga police continues to perform his sworn-in duty to serve and protect the Filipinos by assuming post as the Chief of Police (COP) of Mati City, one of the top most visited destinations in Davao Oriental.


Hailing from Mangali, Tanudan, Police Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Sa-ao formally took over as the COP of Mati City Police Station on July 22, following the Turn-over of Command Ceremony facilitated by Davao Oriental Police Provincial Director, PCol. Ritchie Bucol.


This is Sa-ao’s first time taking over and leading a police force as a Chief. Among the previous posts he held included being the Chief of the Operations Section and Deputy Provincial Director for Administration at Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office. He also served in the Special Action Force and in the PNP Air Unit, where he was a helicopter pilot.


Bringing with him the leadership and the wealth of experience both in operational and administrative functions which he accumulated from his previous assignments, Sa-ao, in an interview with GURU Press Cordillera, conveyed Mati Police Station, under his watch and command, will ensure delivery of swift and responsive service to the public.


Sa-ao relayed that among his top priorities is the maintenance of peace and order in Mati City, especially since it is one of the top destinations for tourists in Davao Oriental due to its breathtaking and enchanting beaches.


“It is important to maintain the peace and order and public safety in the city to ensure the public and the community are safe while enjoying the beauty of the city. Mati Police Station will ensure to deliver swift and responsive public service. It is also our priority to address peace and order problems in collaboration with the Local Government, Community, and Private Stakeholders. Together, we can make the City of Mati a very peaceful top tourist destination,” he expressed.
