College student dies after motorcycle crashes against street light in Isabela

Reina Mercedes, Isabela - Drunk driving is prohibited in all parts of the world and each country has a law banning drunk motorists from operating and maneuvering their vehicle.

 

In the Philippines, this law is the Republic Act No. 10586 otherwise known as the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013.

 

Despite the presence of said law, numbers of accidents due to driving while under the influence of alcohol are still being listed by the authorities, leading to loss of lives, injuries, and damage to properties.


One of the new cases recorded in the country occurred anew in Isabela on Monday, June 3, 2024. The incident claimed the life a 23-year-old college student.

 

The casualty, whose identity is withheld, is a resident of Reina Mercedes, Isabela.

 

According to police reports, the victim was on board a motorcycle when the incident transpired. He was traversing the road in Barangay Nappaccu Grande in said municipality when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a street light.

 

The victim was severely injured due to the crash and did not survive.

 

Investigation conducted by the police revealed that he was intoxicated and not even wearing a helmet when he was riding his motorcycle.
