Cong. Mangaoang appeals to public for support to development projects

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang appealed to residents to embrace development projects after all these were funded to help improve the lives of the people.

Mangaoang underscored this during the groundbreaking ceremony of the tramline and access road in Dun-ol, Bagumbayan held recently.

The tramline and 5-kilometer access road to connect Sitios Minanga, Patok, Sabangan, and Dupag Proper to the national highway were requested by the Dallac – Nanong – Minanga Indigenous Cultural Communities (DANAMI ICCs) relative to the proposed Upper Tabuk Hydroelectric Power Plant of Engineer Daniel Peckley Jr. (DPJ).

In a message delivered by Regino Wacas, the solon ‘encapsulates his commitment of support’ to the development projects, stressing that the projects had undergone a proper process in accordance with Republic Act 8371, otherwise known as the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act 1997.

“Agyaman tayo ta adda daytoy a napanday a linteg, daytoy ti mangsigsigurado a ti interes tayo wennu karebbengan tayo nga IPs ket isu ti masursurut. Datayo ti mangidiktar nu nya dagituy proyekto ken anya dagiti terms ti proyekto nga umay iti il-ili tayo,” Mangaoang underscored.

Wacas related that as the Chairman of the Committee on Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Cultural Communities, Mangaoang’s heart goes to the protection and advancement of the common interest of IPs in the whole country.

“The government is doing everything for the people, ti request tayo lang ket proteksyonan tayo, we embrace each construction, no road right of way problems after all, ti makinabang ket kaadwan,” the solon said.

Mangaoang congratulated DANAMI for initiating the projects and DPJ for granting their request. The latter said the projects are part of ‘Corporate Social Responsibilities’ which were sought by the ‘host communities.’

“After all the arguments and discussion in the social media, ket adda tayo ditoy a sa wakas ket nalawlawagan am-amin ket daytoy project ket naka-buwelo. Sisusuporta ni Congressman iti daytoy a project ta mamati isuna a para ti kaadwan ti kakailyan tayo a Kalinga,” Wacas concluded.
