Construction of a P7.3M fire station in Tanudan a step closer to implementation

Tanudan, Kalinga – The Bureau of Fire Protection-CAR (BFP-CAR) has given a token of appreciation to the Local Government Unit of Tanudan this August 24 as recognition to the deed of lot donation of the latter for the construction of a fire station in the municipality.

Last year, Tanudan LGU turned over the deed of lot donation on November 23, 2020, to the BFP-CAR.

The lot donated by the LGU is a 1,000 square meter piece of lot located at Sitio Banagao, Barangay Poblacion.

Tanudan Mayor Jaedick Rhoss Dagadag said that having met with BFP-CAR and with the result of their meeting, the construction of the fire station is a step closer to getting realized.

To date, Tanudan is the only municipality in Kalinga without a fire station since a BFP building and a fire station in Pasil are currently being constructed.

In an interview, Dagadag underscored the importance of having a fire station in Tanudan saying, ‘haan lang a puor nu di ket agresponde da met lang nu adda didigra'.

Dagadag stressed that there are several advantages of having a fire station in a municipality. Among these are having responders when there are road accidents and calamities.

“Adu ti advantage na nu adda fire station ti maysa nga ili ta saan lang met a puor ti respondean da nu di ket di amin a didigra kasla iti panag-rescue nu adda iti kalamidad. Dagitoy ti maysa kadagiti pagsayaatan na,” he said.

Additionally, Kalinga Fire Director Eballar explained that once the BFP building in Tanudan is erected, the response time of the BFP personnel will be quicker. Up to this time, the responding personnel in cases of fire incidents still come from Tabuk City.

He added that for the past years, personnel from Tabuk City Fire Station have to travel all the way to Tanudan to put out fires.

‘Agpasalamat nak iti tulong iti LGU ken BFP officials’

Mayor Dagadag also acknowledged the concerted support and effort of the Tanudan LGU and BFP officials in order to establish a BFP Fire Station building in the municipality.

“Agpaspasalamat nak latta ti amin a blessing nga um-umay iti Tanudan. Gapu manen iti initiative tayo ken tulong dagitoy BFP personnel nga am-ammu tayo ken dagitoy opisyales ti Tanudan ket addan tu ti maipatakder a fire station idiay Tanudan,” he said.

Dagadag hopes that the building shall begin construction as soon as possible.

With the donation of a lot from the LGU Tanudan, a P7.3M worth of fire station funded by the BFP is expected to rise soon in the municipality.
