Construction worker dies on his way to buy snacks in Baguio City


Baguio City, Philippines - A rider in Baguio City who just went out to buy snacks died on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

 

Initial report from police obtained by a local media near the area disclosed that the casualty was a 52-year-old resident of Samar but working as a construction worker in the city.

 

In their investigation, Baguio City Police Office revealed that the victim was riding the motorcycle. Along with him was his fellow construction worker. They were supposed to buy snacks that time.

 

The two were then traversing Asin road when their motorcycle suddenly lost its brakes, causing it to hit the electric post near the area.


Due to the force of the impact, the victims sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a hospital by the responding authorities.  Unfortunately, the 52-year-old man was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

 

Meantime, the back rider identified as Cecilio Villafuerte Dela Cruz survived the incident and is now in a stable condition.

 

While the police are communicating with the victims’ families, further investigation is being conducted.
