Bado Dangwa, Tabuk intensifies anti-criminality response amid rising crime

Tabuk City, Kalinga―The Barangay Council of Bado Dangwa is intensifying its campaign against criminality thru the establishment of a Barangay Police Action Team (BPAT) checkpoint along the Bado Dangwa road.

With Vice Mayor Bernard Glenn Dao-as presiding, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, during their regular session held on July 22, approved the barangay ordinance on the imposition of BPAT checkpoint in the locality.

The ordinance is entitled ‘Enacting an Ordinance requiring all the residents of Barangay Bado Dangwa to comply with the imposition of the Barangay Police Action Team (BPAT) check point within the Barangay Road of Barangay Bado Dangwa.’

The crafting of said ordinance was decided upon the emergency meeting of the Barangay officials and barangay tanod held at the Barangay hall on July 05, 2021.

The Barangay Council sees the need for said ordinance, having observed an increasing number of criminal activities such as Salisi Gang, Akyat Bahay, stealing of livestock in any opportune time, day and night time within the barangay.

As provided in said ordinance, the Barangay Tanod manning the BPAT checkpoint will be given authority to question all the passersby, individuals or groups especially those passing during night time.

Additionally, the Barangay Tanod may also require the passersby to show their identity if he or she is not a resident of Bado Dangwa and from other barangay.

If there will be suspicious face seen roaming around the barangay, tanod on duty shall report to the authorities or to the police personnel for further action.
