Cordilleran police is first woman city director of PNP Zamboanga

Benguet, Philippines - A multi - awarded police officer from Cordillera has been appointed not just the new but the first woman City Director of Zamboanga City Police Office.

 

Police Colonel Kimberly Esteban Molitas, a native of Kibungan, Benguet, assumed the role as the officer-in-charge of ZCPO during the Change of Command ceremony on March 11, 2024.

 

The ceremony was presided over by Police Regional Office – 9 Director General Bowenn Joey Masauding .

 

Aside from being the first police woman to be assigned as the ZCPO director, Molitas achieved the distinction of being the youngest recipient among the Ten Outstanding Policewomen of the Philippines at the age of 25.


Molitas belongs to the PNPA Magilas Class of 2000 and has been serving the PNP in various capacities for over 20 years.

 

Other recognition she received is being the first Philippine policewoman to complete a Fulbright scholarship as a Hubert Humphrey Fellow at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs.

 

In her interview with the RPN DXXX Zamboanga, Molitas expressed her gratitude for being selected as the new officer -in-charge of ZCPO and promised to do her best in serving the people in the city.

 

“For me, it’s very important to serve all the areas of Zamboanga...  Maraming salamat dahil ako ang ang napiling maging officer-in-charge... I really hope to be able to immerse in the culture and understand even better how I can serve best the people of Zamboanga City., she said.
