Baguio City, Philippines – The Department of Trade and Industry - Cordillera, in partnership with various national-line agencies, launched "Kordilyera Negosyo Agraryo Trade Fair" to showcase locally-made products in the region.

Said event started Friday, July 21, and will run until August 4, 2023, at SM Baguio City Atrium.

12 booths from different micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) were set up in said venue.

Various products made by farmer-beneficiaries who have transformed into successful entrepreneurs under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) known as ‘CARPreneurs’ were displayed on these booths.

Among their displays include bamboo crafts, creative arts, wearables, home styles, cacao-made products, coffee, processed fruits, and nuts, among others.

During the event’s opening ceremony, DTI - Cordillera Regional Director Juliet P. Lucas stressed that the trade fair aimed to support different organizations in the region and promote their locally-made products.

“This trade fair is a venue for the exchange of goods, information sharing, and promotion of our products and organizations,” said Lucas.

Likewise, DOST-CAR Provincial S&T Director Sheila Marie Singa-Claver, thanked MSMEs for their great contribution to the continuous growth of the country’s national gross domestic product (GDP).

"MSMEs are among the key players in a sustainable and robust economy. They contribute greatly to the continuous growth of the National Gross Domestic Product or GDP,” she said.

Other officials from the event’s stakeholders also expressed their messages during said ceremony.

The trade fair is part of the celebration of the Cordillera’s 36th Founding Anniversary.
