Tabuk City, Kalinga – Few crimes with mostly violations of special laws were recorded by the Philippine National Police during the 3-week limited movement in the province due to the imposition of various community quarantine levels.

From January 25 until February 8, 2021, Enhanced Community Quarantine was imposed in Tabuk City; modified ECQ for Rizal, Tanudan, and Lubuagan; General Community Quarantine in Tinglayan and Pasil; and Modified GCQ in Pinukpuk.

The ECQ in Tabuk was extended for another week until February 15 while Tanudan, Tinglayan, Pinukpuk, and Lubuagan was placed under MECQ and GCQ for Balbalan, Pasil, and Rizal.

In these three weeks, crimes declined, “adda met iti crimes ngem nababa, bassit lang,” said Kalinga Police Provincial Director PCol. Davy Vicente Limmong.

Limmong said there are a total of 18 crimes committed wherein 1 is an index crime or crime against a person and property while the rest are non-index in which 13 are violations on special laws such as illegal drugs.

Additionally, only 1 vehicular traffic incident was recorded. The Kalinga Police Provincial Director said that the main contributory factor to this was the limited movement of people.

“Dakkel nga tulong karkaru iti traffic accident. Usually traffic accident iti mangpaadu ditoy santu nu maminsan physical injuries ngem so far awan ta siyempre bawal met, awan met iti agininumen [ken] limited met iti agtambay tambay. So dakkel nga contribution na daytoy observance iti home quarantine and limited movement iti tattao,” he said.
