Ifugao, Philippines – Ifugao bet Valerie Pawid West says she is “excited and ready” to conquer Miss World Philippines 2026, happening tonight, February 3, at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

“My beloved IFUGAO, the day we have all been waiting for is finally here. We are excited and we are ready! Haggiyo!” she wrote in a social media post.

The first-ever Ifugao representative made waves during the national pageant’s Charity Gala Night held on Thursday, earning multiple awards including Miss Grace Yourself, Miss Nutrixpert, Miss Chic Wellness, and Miss Nook Salon.

The 23-year-old Filipina-American also secured titles such as Miss Charity Top 4, Dances of the Philippines Top 8, Top Model Top 9, and Bench Swimsuit Top 9.

In another preliminary round, the Head-to-Head Challenge—a crucial fast-track event—Valerie showcased her confidence, personality, and wit. Her strong performance earned her a spot among the top two delegates. The winner of one of the pageant’s most important challenges will be announced during the grand coronation.

Throughout her Miss World Philippines journey, the beauty queen has proudly championed her Ifugao heritage and her advocacy through the non-profit PUSO (Purposeful Unconditional Service to Others) Foundation, promoting the message of “paying it forward” and the importance of community service.

As a biomedical engineer, Valerie also supports underserved communities through her Pulse of Hope Foundation, which focuses on healthcare access, special needs education, and disaster resilience.

Supporters can vote for her at https://missworldphilippines.sqors.com/valerie-2588 for a chance to secure her an automatic spot in the Top 10. Voting closes at 4 p.m.

As of this writing, she is the highest-voted candidate, with over 191,000 votes.

Last year, Valerie—who was crowned Reina Filipina North America 2025—represented both the Filipino-American community in New York and Ifugao Province in Miss Universe Philippines 2025, where she finished as a Top 24 semifinalist.
