Baguio City, Philippines – A 69-year-old man was found lifeless after he fell into a ravine near a bamboo grove in Sector G, Country Club, Baguio City, on the afternoon of February 7, 2026.

According to a police report obtained by local media, neighbors were alerted at around 2:00 p.m. after hearing a loud sound near the bamboo grove, suggesting that something heavy had fallen. The elderly man was reportedly in the area at the time.

Residents discovered the victim at the bottom of a 40- to 50-meter-deep ravine, lying in a river. He was unresponsive, with head injuries sustained from the fall.

Police said the man showed no signs of life when his son retrieved him from the scene. The family opted not to bring the body to the hospital after confirming his death.

No autopsy was conducted, as the family believed the fall was accidental. Authorities respected the family’s request not to disclose the victim’s identity.

Investigators continue to document the scene and gather information to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
