Regional Director Estela Cariño said the personnel of DepEd-CAR, including the educators and students, have been open to accepting the gender sexuality of their fellows.

As part of their efforts in promoting gender equality, they have integrated into their modules and programs gender and development lessons for learners to be familiarized with the impact of gender roles and prevent bullying and discrimination.

According to Cariño, it is also best that the members of the LGBTQ cultivate their relationships with their colleagues in the education department.

With the theme “Catalyst of Gender Mainstreaming: Strengthening the GAD Focal Point System,” the GFPS convened the local government units and partner agencies in Cordillera for them to be oriented and be updated on the use of the system’s functionality tools as well as address the concerns relating to gender and development services.
