DepEd-SDO Tabuk Official Recognized by CSC-CAR ‘for Exemplary Service’

Tabuk City, Kalinga—An employee of the Department of Education–Schools Division Office (SDO) Tabuk City was recently recognized by the Civil Service Commission–Cordillera (CSC-CAR) for his “exemplary service” to the public.


DepEd–SDO Tabuk City District Supervisor Henry Alunday was hailed as one of the ten awardees of the Gawad Pagasa (Individual Category), receiving a plaque of recognition from the CSC-CAR on September 29 during its “Pagpupugay at Pasasalamat” Regional Honors and Awards Program for the 2025 Outstanding Civil Servants in Baguio City. The program aims to recognize and celebrate outstanding individuals and groups in the region.


The award, as cited in CSC Memorandum Circular No. 03, honors consistent and dedicated public servants whose performance exemplifies the best in public service and results in significant and broader government or public benefits.


Leading the awarding ceremony were CSC Regional Director Fernando Mendoza and Assistant Regional Director Ruben Wacas.


Apart from Alunday, the DepEd Tabuk City, in its official Facebook post, also honored Dr. Benedicta Gamatero, SDO-Tabuk Superintendent, for her “rightful nomination” of Alunday following a “thorough and meticulous division process.”


Gamatero, meanwhile, received a certificate of recognition.


Other awardees in the individual category included: DSWD–CAR Admin Officer IV Melodee Ann Anipew; Paracelis, Mt. Province Midwife IV Caroline Asimao; DepEd–SDO Mt. Province Head Teacher III Heidi Briones; BGHMC Nutritionist–Dietician II Dominga Gawe; Baguio City Local Treasury Officer II Roderick Lagazo; Baguio Supervising Admin Officer May Grace Palicdon; Baguio Water District General Manager Salvador Royeca; and DILG–CAR Director IV Araceli San Jose.


For the Gawad Pagasa Group Category, awardees included the Asipulo Careforce of LGU Asipulo, the Balai HIV and AIDS Core Team Treatment Hub of BGHMC, the BGHMC Blood Bank, the BGHMC Department of Family and Community Medicine, and the DILG–CAR.
