DILG cites Benguet as child - friendly province in 2023


La Trinidad, Benguet - After passing the 2023 functionality audit, the provincial government of Benguet was awarded anew, this time with the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance by the Department of Interior and Local Government - Cordillera.

 

The award is conferred to LGUs in the country that passed the DILG’s Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA).

 

CFLGA is an annual assessment gauging the LGU’s performance in the implementation of child-friendly policies, programs, projects, and services excelling in the four core rights of children - Survival, Development, Protection, and Participation.

 

The Benguet PLGU has passed this assessment, a testament to its commitment to creating an environment conducive to the well-being of children in the province.

 

The CFLGA award was handed over by the DILG - Cordillera Regional Director Araceli San Jose to Governor Melchor Daguines Diclas during the awarding ceremony on Wednesday, March 21, 2024, at the Benguet Provincial Capitol.

 

Aside from the PLGU, the same award was also conferred to its 10 municipalities -Bakun, Buguias, Itogon, Kapangan, Kibungan, La Trinidad, Mankayan, Sablan, Tuba, and Tublay.

 

San Jose, in her message, congratulates the PLGU and its municipalities for passing the functionality audits, challenging them to excel more to attain the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), which assessment will start next month.
