Tanudan, Kalinga – As of Sunday, October 3, around P37,539 was generated through the donation drive of the Tanudan youth, which they initiated to raise funds for the five children who were orphaned after their parents were shot last September 12 in Upper Lubo.

The ‘Care for the Orphan’ project was conceptualized by the Sangguniang Kabataan and the Kabataan Konta Droga at Terorismo shortly after they heard about the incident that left the five children with ages 1 to 10 years orphaned.

In an interview, SK Federation President, Hearthy Aowat said that they went to visit the children on October 3 at their grandparents’ house where they are currently staying.

He said that they are planning to open a savings account at the Lubo Cooperative for the children to help secure their future, should they need money in case of emergency or for other important expenses.

“Adu gamin paylang iti tulong nga um-umay kanyada tatta isu a kunami nga i-reserve mi lattan diay cash, i-membro mi isuda iti cooperative tapnu in the future nu man agkailangan dan … adda diay kwarta a mai-deposit kanyada a mabalin da pagalaan,” he said.

Meantime, Aowat expressed gratitude to those who helped and supported the fundraising activity for the success of the project.

“Agpasalamat kami kadagiti donors a nangted, big and small amount ken in kind and in cash, a from the heart da piman nga inted tapnu lang makatulong. Ket gapu diay tulong da ket at least adda tun bassit nga usaren dagiay ubbing nga naulila nu dummakkel dan to,” he expressed.
