DOST Scholarship application NOW OPEN; P40,000 tuition fee and P8,000 monthly allowance await successful applicants

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Forty-thousand pesos in tuition fee and eight thousand monthly allowance are among the benefits waiting for incoming third-year college students who qualify for the Department of Science and Technology Junior Level Science Scholarships(JLSS), which application closes on Friday, May 23.

The JLSS scholarships provide P40,000 tuition fee per year, P8,000 per month living allowance, P10,000 book allowance per year, P10,000 thesis allowance, premium group health and accident insurance, and P1,000 graduation allowance.

DOST Kalinga Provincial Director Jasmine Lee Dona-al, who was also once a DOST scholar, urged those deserving incoming third year students who are pursuing courses in science and technology at state colleges and universities in the province to apply and avail of the scholarship benefits.

“Nu regular second year student ka nga enrolled ka iti state universities and colleges, for example nu ditoy Kalinga ket idiay ka KSU nga naka-enroll nga DOST priority course diay course mo, mabalin ka nga ag-appy ditoy Junior level science scholarship nga makuna tayo.  Siyak apo ket maysa ak nga DOST scholar idi undergrad … Dakkel nga tulong daytoy nu talaga nga iti hilig mo ket science, technology, engineering, and math, apay nga haan mo i-consider daytoy,” she expressed.

For Kalinga, the DOST priority courses at the Kalinga State University include BS in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, BS in Agricultural Engineering, BS in Agricultural Technology, BS in Agriculture, BS in Biology, BS in Civil Engineering, BS in Computer Engineering, BS in Electrical Engineering, BS in Forestry, Bs in Information Technology, BS in Mathematics, BS in Pharmacy, BS in Psychology, BS in Public Health, BSEd in Mathematics, and BSEd Science.
