Isabela, Philippines – A drug peddler evaded arrest after selling more than P6 million worth of marijuana to an undercover operative in Barangay Abbut, Quezon, just near the Kalinga-Isabela boundary on December 3, 2022.

Based on the report of the Police Regional Office 2, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives and the Philippine National Police in the region conducted a buy-bust operation around 9:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The suspect and the undercover agent agreed to meet near the Kalinga-Isabela boundary in Abbut, Quezon for the 55 bricks of marijuana that the agent intended to buy for P440,000.

During the transaction, the suspect sensed the arrival of the back-up vehicle. This prompted him to run and disappear into the dark grassy area.

The suspect managed to escape the hands of the operatives.

The 55 pieces of suspected marijuana which the suspect sold to the undercover operative were seized by the authorities. Said contraband has an estimated value of P6,600,000.

The confiscated pieces of evidence were turned over to the PDEA Region 2 for laboratory examination.
