Engr. Garde assumes post as new Mayor of Luna, Apayao, assures townspeople crucial transformation

Luna, Apayao - Mayor Engr. Januario ‘’Bobot’’ Garde assumed office midday of Monday, June 30 after a smooth leadership transition with his predecessor now Board Member elect Josephine Bangsil at the LGU hall, on June 23.

 

Garde, along with the new sets of elected officials, officially began their 3-year service as elected local leaders of Luna town.

 

As Garde stepped onto his first term in office, he said he aims to boost local economic development, make reforms on social services among diverse sectors, and give a new brand of leadership to the municipality.

 

When asked about the first thing he will do in office, the mayor said he shall design a Master Plan for all policies, projects, activities and services in the Local government to establish organized and efficient implementations, after all the turn-over has been completed. 

 

Under Garde’s administration, the municipality of Luna hopes to benefit from various government services tailored for the needs of 22 barangays, ensuring that no family will be left behind.

 

With this, the LCE urged the municipal council of legislative support to effectively carry out his executive plans and agenda centered on excellent governance and rapid advancement of the town. Moreover, he called on the LGU workforce to manifest genuine collaboration to ensure that the constituents will receive uninterrupted public service.

 

‘‘I encourage everyone to exhibit the principle of synergy, for without its essence we would not accomplish much,’’ Garde stressed in his statement, adding that it is high-time for a higher level of transformation felt by the people.

 

 

Garde likewise emphasized sincere demonstration to unity, transparency, and accountability citing that these were valuable and desirable qualities among public servants. 

 

Having a solid foundation on Planning and Infrastructure throughout his almost 43 years of quality service in the DPWH, Garde believes accelerating infra delivery is one key priority he shall consider during his term.

 

To recall, Mayor Garde who ran under the banner of ‘Sapasap nga Serbisyo’ during the midterm election highlighted in his campaigns the exigency of advancing Luna’s growth in proper alignment with the Provincial government developmental plans under Governor Bulut’s administration.

 

The LGU workforce positively welcomed the Bangsil to Garde transition of leadership.
