Buguey, Cagayan – Following a search warrant implementation on Monday, November 21, by Buguey police and the 2nd Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company, an explosive and ammunition were confiscated from a 26-year-old fisherman in Barangay Cabaritan West, Buguey, Cagayan.
The implementation of a search warrant was made after receiving complaints that Alyas Daniel, 26, is a bully or a ‘siga’ in the area.
Authorities applied for the search warrant which was issued by RTC Branch 6 Judge Neljoe Cortez, thus, the conduct of the house raid.
During the raid, police seized from the suspect a bullet of M-203 grenade launcher, six bullets of Armalite rifles, and a piece of a caliber 45 bullet.
No guns were recovered in the said raid.
The suspect now faces two cases – one for violating RA 9561 or Illegal Possession of Explosives and another for violation of RA 10591 or Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
The case was filed through inquest proceedings at the Provincial Prosecutors Office in Aparri.
The suspect, meantime, is temporarily detained at the Buguey Police Station jail while awaiting a court order.
