Father and son suspected of killing co- worker in Baguio City

Baguio City – A man is believed to have taken the life of his co-worker in the basement of a building along Kennon Road on February 1, 2024.

The suspect, identified as Chris Smith Morales Labungay, 30, allegedly committed the heinous act against his co-worker, Donald Syasayag Desierto, 49, a resident of Balsigan, Baguio City.

According to police reports, the incident transpired amid an altercation fueled by an apparent disagreement between Desierto and Labungay. The disagreement is said to have escalated, leading to Labungay's act of aggression.

Labungay and his father, named Rogelio Castillo Labungay, were said to have beaten and stabbed the victim multiple times.

Desierto was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.

The younger suspect is now in the custody of the authorities, while his father remains at large. Both will be facing homicide charges.

The police are now conducting a thorough investigation to piece together the events leading up to the fatal encounter.
