First Friday of October declared as Tabuk City Cooperative Day



Tabuk City, Kalinga – Following the approval of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Tabuk City Cooperative Day is now officially celebrated every first Friday of October in the city.


Ordinance No. 013 Series of 2021, which intends to give importance and recognition to the contributions of cooperatives for the economic development of Tabuk, was unanimously approved by the SP Kalinga headed by Vice Governor Dave Odiem during their session on December 14.


Said ordinance declares every first Friday of October as the Cooperative Day of Tabuk City, wherein all cooperatives shall be enjoined to participate in a celebration dubbed as ‘Timpuyog ti Kooperatiba Festival’.

General Provision


As provided, the City Government of Tabuk, through the City Cooperative Development Council (CCDC) shall formulate programs to raise consciousness of people in joining cooperative movement and to uphold principles and values of cooperativism.


The CCDC is also mandated to create public awareness about the sector’s contribution in development and that they should gather the accredited cooperatives in Tabuk for a unified movement and crusade to promote social, cultural, and economic growth and development.


Moreover, the Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Office shall spearhead search for the most outstanding cooperative in Tabuk to recognize exemplary performance and contribution of the cooperatives.


A Fund of at least P500,000 shall be taken from the City’s Annual Budget for the implementation of this ordinance.


Under Republic Act 11502, October every year was declared as National Cooperative Month.
