Tabuk City,Kalinga- The public visiting the Kalinga Provincial Capitol in Bulanao,  Tabuk City can now enjoy free internet connectivity following the recent activation of Starlink satellite units earlier installed.

Through the initiative of Governor James Edduba who requested for the project, the Department of Information Communication and Technology - Cordillera provided a total of three Starlink units around the capitol.

In an interview with Guru Press Cordillera, Kalinga Provincial Information Officer Dionica Alyssa Legasi relayed that the areas where the units were installed include the Capitol Canopy, third floor of the Enterprise Building, and at the Kalinga Sports Center.

Each Starlink device, installed on May 26, provides a 200-meter radius of free internet service, directly benefiting the clients accessing services at these government hubs/locations.

The Starlink units installed in said areas are part of the 60 units requested by  Governor Edduba from the DICT, to provide better connectivity for Kalinga PLGU offices and other areas needing stable internet signals.

Other units were earlier installed at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) and other district hospitals in the province. Some were turned over to the seven municipalities and lone city of Kalinga.

The LGUs already installed the units in their respective geographically isolated and disadvantaged communities.
