Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor Ferdinand Tubban encouraged the 67 recipients of the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay: Livelihood Seeding Program of DTI-Kalinga to use the equipment given to them for their business to flourish.

Tubban, during the awarding of livelihood kits held on December 21, emphasized the roles of entrepreneurs in the local economy, citing several studies showing how they can provide income and boost development.

In the awarding, the beneficiaries from the City of Tabuk and the various municipalities in the province received P7,000 worth of livelihood kit each.

The kit contains 1 set of heavy-duty cast-iron stove gas, 1 set of fabricated fried chicken glass display, 1 refilled liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank, 1 wok, 2 big stainless tongs, and 2 stainless strainers with handle.

DTI-Kalinga Provincial Director Renie Ramos in a message clarified that these livelihood kits are not ‘ayuda’ but were provided by the national government through their office for the beneficiaries to engage in economic activities.

The recipients, he said, must then take good care of the equipment as their office would soon be conducting monitoring and evaluation to inspect if they are used for their purpose.

“Ited ti government dagitoy, now datayo a businessman, ited tayo met ti kaya tayo,” Ramos said.

Governor Tubban affirmed said statement saying, ‘sumabat tayo kuma met kadagiti programa ken it-ited ti gobyerno, aywanan tayo ken palaguen tayo.’

“Kasla kuma nu adda ited da a bombaan, datayo ti mang-repair, han tayo urayen manen ti gobyerno,” Tubban related.

The governor congratulated all the beneficiaries and asked them to support in return such government programs.
