Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor, Engr. Ferdinand Tubban applauded the members of the provincial peace and order committee for their concerted effort, resulting in the drop in the province’s crime rate.

A press release from the Provincial Information Office states that “index crimes within the province for the third quarter decreased to 25.49% compared to the previous quarter while non-index crimes were down to 21.67%.”

This was reported during the joint meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) chaired by Governor Tubban.

Tubban expressed appreciation to the councils for fulfilling their mandates despite the difficulties brought about by the pandemic.

“I thank the law enforcers and members of the council for their dedication and hard work to keep our province safe. Adda latta dagiti problema tayo ngem nu amin tayo ket agtitinnulong tapno malapdan dagiti kriminalidad ken dakes a panggep, sigurado a mas mapasayaat tayo ti seguridad ken talna ti probinsiya. To ensure a safe environment, the council further discussed “arising matters on the province's peace and order, insurgency, and public safety such as Betwagan-Butbut Tribal Conflict, anti-drug abuse, and communist armed conflict.”

The governor likewise led the review on projects for Support to Barangay Development for Fiscal Year 2022 to promote the general welfare.

Tubban, in the said press release, has ‘encouraged the members to continue delivering and executing their tasks and responsibilities which may keep the peace and order of the province through eradication of crimes, illegal drugs, insurgency, and other conflicts between tribes.’
