Representing the Red Soil Coffee, Jeric Gumpic ranked first runner-up in said roasting competition, only a spot away from Bruce Bryan Rubio of Bukidnon, who was named the overall champion.

Jeric bested 13 other top-tier roasters from across the country in a showcase of precision, creativity, and passion for the craft.

In a heartfelt post, Jeric shared on social media his thoughts on being just one place away from the championship and gave heartfelt thanks to those who stood by him, saying, “... sayang lang kinulang nang konti, piru dibali. I still have much to learn, and I'm eager to learn more. Thank you for the opportunity.”
