Igorot fire officer tops Fire Junior Leadership Course

Mt. Province, Philippines –An Igorota did not just complete her fire leadership course, she finished it on top of her class along with special awards.

 

Fire Office 3 Jenry Layagan is one of the 163 completers of the Fire Junior Leadership Course 2024-27 Class “BAHANDI” in the country on April 1, 2024.

 

The course is a 3-month mandatory training designed to equip the junior non-commissioned officer with the knowledge, attitude, skills, habit, and values for team-leading tasks and to prepare them with their leadership skills when they assume higher responsibility.

 

Among the 163 completers, Layagan was the top-performing with 94.3253% average, earning her a certificate of merit. She also secured two more special awards which include the academic proficiency award and the highest in subject proficiency with 93.9945% and 94.8260% averages, respectively.

 

Layagan is an alumna of the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College where she finished Bachelor of Science in Criminology in 2015.

 

In a Facebook post, the top-performing junior officer, she attributed her success to the Creator writing, "With every triumph, hurdle conquered, and wisdom gained, I'm reminded: IT'S YOU LORD, fueling and leading my journey every step of the way."
