Tabuk City, Kalinga - Considering inflation and rise in hospitalization costs, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) is seeking to increase the amount of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).

This was raised during a recent meeting with the CSWDO, said Councilor Zorayda Mia Wacnang in her committee report. Wacnang is one of the authors of said AICS ordinance,.

The matter was approved on its first reading during the Sangguninang Panlungsod regular session today, June 17.

It can be recalled that the ordinance was last amended in 2015 under former Councilor Lucretina Sarol.

With this, the assessment of the social workers of CSWDO shows that the amount of AICS under the prevailing ordinance is already inadequate to help defray hospitalization costs and medical bills.

The increase shall also be of great help to those with grave medical conditions and those undergoing major medical operations.
