IT’S A BOY: Olympian Hergie Bacyadan honors Tanudan heritage in emotional “Tadok” Gender Reveal for baby

Tanudan, Kalinga – Beyond the grit and glory of international boxing rings, Olympian Hergie Bacyadan and wife, Lady Denily Digo, celebrated a personal milestone as a gender reveal organized by family and close friends announced that they are expecting a baby boy.

In a video posted on February 2, 2026, on the couple’s personal page, the intimate gathering became a meaningful celebration of family, culture, and heritage. To mark the occasion, Hergie honored her Tanudan roots by performing the traditional tadok dance.

Hergie, who has represented the Philippines on the international stage, continues to inspire both in and out of the ring—this time by blending a deeply personal moment with a tribute to her ancestral roots.

The video drew warm reactions from supporters, fellow athletes, and community members, who praised her for embracing her cultural identity during the milestone. The celebration highlighted not only the couple’s excitement about welcoming their first child but also the importance of preserving and honoring indigenous traditions in contemporary life events.

“Sobrang thankful kami kasi sobrang timing ng lahat. Kasi siyempre, prepared na kami financially—okay na kami,” Lady said, expressing gratitude that everything came at the right time, noting that they are financially prepared and that Hergie has already achieved her goal of becoming an Olympian.

Hergie added that they feel entrusted by God as they step into parenthood, saying, “…parang binigay na rin ni Lord ang kanya-kanyang obligasyon naming bago namin pasukin yung buhay bilang mga magulang.”

The baby boy

Despite public scrutiny, Hergie and Lady remained determined to start a family, highlighting their strong commitment to each other.

The couple initially announced they were expecting a child in September 2025 and later confirmed the good news in a TikTok post in November 2025, with Lady describing it as the best wedding anniversary gift.

The pair has also been transparent about conceiving their baby through in vitro fertilization (IVF)—a medical procedure that helps people conceive a child when natural conception is difficult or not possible.
