Kalinga jabbed 91% of target population during National Vaccination Days


Tabuk City, Kalinga – Around 9,401 individuals, or 91 percent of the 9,909 targeted population in Kalinga were vaccinated during the scheduled National Vaccination Days held from December 13 to 17, 2021.


Provincial Governor Ferdinand Tubban, through an executive order, declared this.


In a report of the Provincial Information Office, the Center for Health Development relayed on Sunday, December 19, that the province hit said percentage resulted to a record of 117,074 individuals vaccinated with first dose COVID-19 vaccines while to date, some 95,030 individuals or 61 percent of the target populace of Kalinga are already fully vaccinated.


To attain said target, PHO-Kalinga has expanded its vaccination with fixed sites, temporary post, and mobile vaccination teams to be activated. The academe through Kalinga State University also opened its campus to help with the vaccination drive, while the stage located at the Provincial Capitol was likewise utilized.

In other municipalities, municipal gymnasiums and public schools were used as vaccination sites.


As recalled, the Provincial Government of Kalinga, wanting to attain herd immunity this December, has strengthened its campaign in attaining the target pushed the provincial government to craft an Executive Order declaring those aforementioned dates for the conduct of the Bayanihan Bakunahan Part II.


The provincial governor directed the PHO to extend the inoculation until December 22, 2021 and shall intensify the same activity until December 31, 2021, including weekends.


“To achieve the target of a fully vaccinated 54 million Filipinos by the end of the year, the Local Government Units are mandated to administer the due second doses, JnJ vaccines to unvaccinated adults, and other vaccines available for those 12 years old and above so as booster doses by virtue of NIATF Advisory No.132,” the PIO-Kalinga posted in their Facebook Page.
