Kalinga NHS wins Regional Search for Best Brigada Eskwela Implementers 2021

Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Department of Education – Cordillera selected Kalinga National High School (KNHS) as the winner for the Regional Search for Best Brigada Eskwela Implementers 2021 under Mega School Category.

Brigada Eskwela or the National Schools Maintenance Week is an annual activity initiated by DepEd that mobilizes school stakeholders to do repairs and a clean-up drive to prepare for the opening of classes.

The search for Best Brigada Eskwela Implementing Schools Award was launched to give due recognition to schools whose efforts in the implementation are exemplary.

The criteria for the search was contextualized from the general criteria that include partnership engagement activities, resources generated in support of Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan implementation, and impact of Brigada Eskwela in terms of community participation and level of awareness on education programs.

“Award as concrete evidence of committed efforts”

Mildred S. Cabay, the Principal of KNHS, attributed the recent school’s achievement to the unity and coordination of the stakeholders, especially the community leaders, Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) officers and the whole of KNHS family.

“The award conferred to us is a concrete evidence of the committed efforts of all-the students, teachers, parents, school officials and stakeholders,” highlighted Cabay.

KNHS to receive Award in Benguet

DepEd-Cordillera, through its Regional Memorandum No. 248-2022, announced that the school and other winners of the said search shall receive their award during the Regional Brigada 2021 Awards and Stakeholders' Recognition scheduled on July 6, 2022 at DepEd -CAR Compound, Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet.

KNHS likewise won 2020 Division Search for Brigada Eskwela Best Implementing School – Mega School Category and ranked 2nd in regionwide search.
