Kalinga PNP says all marijuana plants ‘uray babassit’ will be destroyed

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Kalinga Police Provincial Office Director Colonel Davy Vicente Limmong said that eradication of Marijuana plants in the province will not stop, “continuous despite nga uray kasjay nga babassit, apan mi latta dadaelen.”


Just this December 1, the operatives uprooted and destroyed grown marijuana plants with an estimated dangerous drug board value of P1,000,000 Buscalan, Tinglayan.


According to Kapulisan Ng Kalinga, at least 5,000 marijuana plants from two plantation sites with an estimated total land area of 1,000 square meters were burned in the said barangay.


Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte in his speech during the destruction of P7,510,840,985.32 worth of confiscated illegal drugs this December 3 in Cavite ordered law enforcers to maintain their anti illegal drugs operations even during the pandemic.


“Let me emphasize to our law enforcement agents and operatives despite the extraordinary circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, these criminals do not cease in their nefarious activities,” he said.


“We must, therefore, remain steadfast in our campaign not only by intensifying our operations against drug trafficking, but also by reforming our criminal justice system and addressing the root cause of drug abuse and dependency,” he added.
