Kalinga police hold firearm registration, renewal caravan


Tabuk City, Kalinga – The Kalinga police are urging gun owners in Kalinga to register or renew their guns and licenses to own firearms at the ongoing License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) caravan at Camp Captain Juan M. Duyan, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

 

The caravan, part of the celebration of Kalinga’s 29th Founding Anniversary and the 5th Bodong Festival, will last until tomorrow, February 17.

 

For new applicants, requirements include two copies of the notarized application form, a national police clearance, a neuro-psychiatric evaluation to be issued by the PNP Health Service, a drug test, and a gun safety and responsibility seminar administered by the PNP or a registered and authorized gun club (KPPO).

 

Gun owners should also bring a birth certificate from PSA with an official receipt or photocopy of their passport, barangay clearance for LTOPF purposes or any proof of billing, two copies of a valid government ID, and proof of income.


If proof of income is unavailable, those availing of the services may bring a pay slip (for private employees), a land title or certification from the barangay chairman and COP for proof of livelihood (for farmers only), a retirement order, a certificate of employment, or an appointment order.

 

For the renewal of LTOPF, an applicant needs to submit two copies of the notarized application form, a national police clearance, a neuropsychiatric certificate issued by the PNP Health Service (KPPO), a negative drug test certificate, and an affidavit of undertaking.

 

For firearms renewal and registration, only two copies of the notarized application form and a photocopy of the valid LTOPF are needed.
