Tabuk City, Kalinga – Based on the 38.5 percent average occupancy rate recorded from the temporary treatment and medical facilities (TTMFs) in the province, Kalinga is now considered at low risk level or safe zone for the Covid-19 virus.

TTMFs in the province, in a latest data (March 1, 2021), had 36.49 % Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR), hospitals with 37.04 % and infirmaries 29.09 % .

Public Information Office – Kalinga reported that to be placed under low risk or safe zone, BOR must be at 0 to 60 percent.

As TTMFs’ BOR decreases, PIO Kalinga said this instance leads to safer zone. Kalinga’s BOR decreased from 54.9 percent on February 23, 2021 to 36.5 percent on March 1, 2021.

Kalinga, as of this writing, has 252 beds for Covid-19 positive patients, 148 from all TTMFs, 54 from hospitals, and fifty beds from all Infirmaries.

ADAR and 2-WGR

In the last 2 weeks, the growth rate (2-WGR) of Covid cases in Kalinga was negative 1.8 percent , putting the classification to low. Its average daily attack rate, on the other hand, was high at 15.8. If an area scores more than 7 percent, ADAR is classified as high.

ADAR is the number of new cases in an area over a two-week period, divided by its total population. The higher the ADAR, the higher the risk of getting COVID-19 is expected.

The two-week growth rate, on the other hand, is the increase or decrease of the number of new cases in the past two weeks compared to the number of new cases in the two previous weeks in a certain area.

Of the 2,273 Covid-19 total positive cases, Kalinga has now 1,737 recoveries, 20 recorded deaths and 514 active cases.
