Kalinga RHUs get 29.3M, hospitals to get 69.5M worth of medical equipment from DOH

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Governor James S. Edduba expressed gratitude to the Department of Health as residents in Kalinga are set to benefit from improved healthcare services with the health department allocating more than P98 million worth of medical equipment for health facilities across the province this year.


The DOH-Kalinga made this announcement during the Provincial Health Board Meeting on Friday, September 5, held at the Mhotel, Tabuk City.


The medical equipment will be provided to the Rural Health Units (RHUs) and hospitals in the province, ensuring that every community, especially those in far-flung areas, will have better access to quality medical care.


Of the total allocation, P29.3 million will go to the RHUs of the province’s seven municipalities and lone city, while P69.5 million is allotted to hospitals, including the KPH, which will receive the biggest share at P30 million.


As reported thru the Facebook page of Governor James Edduba, Tabuk City RHUs were allotted a total of P7.8 million divided among its four RHUs—RHU I (P4.5 million), RHU II (P1.5 million), RHU III (P1 million), and its Super RHU IV (P800,000).


Meanwhile, Balbalan RHU got P3 million, Pasil RHU (P3 million), Pinukpuk RHU I and II (P3 million and P1.5 million, respectively), Lubuagan RHU (P2.5 million), Tanudan RHU (P3 million), Rizal RHU (P1.5 million), and Tinglayan RHU (P2.5 million).


Edduba, in an interview, stressed that with better equipment, the health facilities will be able to serve their patients more efficiently.


The governor then reminded the managements of the RHUs and chiefs of the hospitals in the province to make sure that the funds for medical equipment are spent according to their specific Health Development Plans, focusing on logistics and operational needs, and to present the necessary documents for swift use.
