KPH employees granted P16M health emergency allowance

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Health personnel and administrative staff of the Kalinga Provincial Hospital have been recently granted a health emergency incentive.

Governor James Edduba, along with the KPH Chief of Hospital, Dr. Rey Aranca, received a check for P16 million from the Department of Health and the Cordillera Administrative Region Center for Health Development for the Health Emergency Allowance of KPH for fiscal year 2023.

Said amount was awarded during the Malasakit and Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially-Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) program Consultative Meeting in Baguio City on May 7, 2024.

The incentive, as mentioned by the Kalinga Provincial Information Office, is a support to the provincial health and administrative personnel and is designed to promote the workers’ resilience and well-being.

Dr. Aranca expressed his gratitude to the DOH, CHD CAR, and other officials for the funding granted for the incentives of the health care workers and administrative staff of KPH. He likewise acknowledged the people who worked on and processed the needed documents for the grant.

Just recently, President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr. announced that at least P59.8 billion in health emergency allowance has already been distributed to medical frontline workers in the country.
