KPH gets P3.5M medical equipment from Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital

Tabuk City, Kalinga – Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital (LHMRH) donated vital respiratory support equipment amounting to P3.5 million to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) on April 21, 2025.

 

The donated equipment includes two mechanical ventilators, two bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) machines, and two high-flow nasal cannula machines.

 

The donation, according to the Department of Health Kalinga, was made following a formal request from the KPH amid growing demands for mechanical ventilators and other life-saving equipment at the hospital.

 

On April 21, the LHMRH led by Dr. Eduard Calpito, Medical Center Chief II turned over the equipment to the KPH through its OIC Chief, Dr. Rey Aranca, and Governor James Edduba.

 

Among the persons present during the turn-over ceremony included Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Edward Tandingan, PDOHO DMO V Ms. Lilia Rose Say-awen, LHMRH Supervising Administrative Officer Ms. Rachel Benito and Nurse V Ms. Jane Layagan, along with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff.

 

Governor Edduba, in a statement, thanked the LHMRH for generously sharing their resources to KPH. He likewise commended the continuing hard work and efforts of the KPH, PHO, and DOH Kalinga in providing accessible healthcare to the iKalingas. 

 

“Agyaman kami la unay kadagiti taga LHMRH led by Dr. Edwardo Calpito. Dagitoy ket mang-upgrade ti Intensive Care Unit tayo para iti accreditation wennu license application for a level II status. Pagyamanan iti kinagaget dagiti amin nga lideres ti KPH, PHO, and PDOH,” he said.
