Tabuk City, Kalinga – When rushed to the hospital in Tabuk City, a 36-year-old man was pronounced dead Wednesday afternoon, July 12.

Denver Alunday of Gawaan, Balbalan was driving a Kulong-kulong in Barangay Bantay, Tabuk City when he got involved in a road accident around 1:30 p.m. on said date, according to a report from the Kalinga Police Provincial Office.

Police initial investigation showed that the Kulong-kulong was traversing the road from Calanan direction and was heading towards Sitio Dalimuno while a Ford Ranger driven by a certain Hanz Menzi, 33, was going in the opposite direction.

The pick-up driver, as relayed by the investigators, claimed that the Kulong-kulong suddenly encroached his lane, resulting in it crashing into his vehicle’s front part, hitting its left headlight, hood, and bumper.

With the impact, the kulong-kulong was wrecked and Alunday was thrown and landed at the back of the pick-up.

Responding authorities brought him to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
