La Trinidad, Benguet – Varieties of strawberry products are now on display at the La Trinidad Municipal Hall grounds as the town kicked off its 42nd Strawberry Festival on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Mayor Romeo Salda, along with other municipal officials and stakeholders, led the opening program of the festivities on said day.

An agro-fair was opened at the municipal grounds, which serves as a venue for farmers to sell their products like strawberries, delectable by-products, and an array of strawberry-themed goods and items.

A strawberry vegetable-salad making contest also took place at the King College of the Philippines on the same day. The event was participated in by students from La Trinidad, wherein senior high school learner Ivanric Cayat emerged victorious with his strawberry and mixed greens with strawberry 'etag' vinaigrette.

Other activities lined up for the month-long festivities include the heaviest and sweetest strawberries on March 8; the strawberry fun run 'Duting tan Dukto' on March 9; the civic parade and main program on March 15; street dancing, small floats, and drum and lyre performances on March 16; and the strawberry cake fest on March 17, among others.

The closing program will be on March 26, along with the awarding ceremony for the winners of the festival contests.

Meanwhile, the municipal government issued an executive order directing the creation of temporary traffic routes for the activities on March 15 and 16.
