Lamaton Family from Barlig, Mt. Province wins P.2M on Family Feud Philippines

Barlig, Mt. Province - The Lamaton family from Barlig, led by the celebrated Igorot chef, Romulo Lamaton Royol Jr., clinched a total of P200, 000 jackpot on Family Feud Philippines, showcasing quick wit and unity that earned them a well-deserved win and brought cheers to their hometown.


In celebration of the National Indigenous Peoples Month, Family Feud Philippines— a long-running tv game show, featured two indigenous family—the Lamataons of Barlig, Mt. Province and the Kadumahan of Manobo, Mindanao for its October 1, 2025 episode.


Representing the Cordilleran spirit with pride, the iBarlig family impressed host Dingdong Dantes and the audience with their teamwork and confident answers, playing through the rounds and sealing the win in the Fast Money segment.


The 37 points winning answer


In the Fast Money segment, Chef JR was poised to answer the questions in twenty seconds which he answered swiftly earning him 145 total points—leaving 55 more points for the Lamatons to secure the P200,000 jackpot.

The questions in the segment were, ‘Noong 1980s, kahit five pesos ang baon, medyo masaya na. Pero ngayon, nagrereklamo pa ang mga estudyante kahit bigyan mo sila ng magkano; Ilan ang kopya ng susi ng bahay ng taong sigusrista; and Gulay na nilalagyan ng gata?’ among others.


Other questions include, ‘Ano kaya ang meron kapag nagkukumpulan ang mga kalalakihan? Bakit pumupunta ang inahing manok sa likod ng bahay?’


Shanalee Lamaton, who came next to answer, stumbled with a pass and a zero point, but her ‘sugal’ answer to the question “Ano kaya ang meron kapag nagkukumpulan ang mga kalalakihan?” delivered a game-changing 37 points—boosting the family to a total of 74; 19 points over the target and sealing the cash prize.


The Lamatons' win brought joy to Barlig community, many of whom tuned in to watch the episode and expressed their joy and support on social media. With their recent victory, the Lamatons join a growing number of local families leaving their mark on national television.
