Baguio City, Philippines―As the City of Baguio is placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), leisure travel to the country’s summer capital is still suspended until further notice.

According to the Public Information Office-City of Baguio, the city will be implementing the revised GCQ guidelines under Executive Order (EO) No. 51 signed by Mayor Benjamin Magalong on April 10, 2021.

As stated on the guidelines, tourism and leisure travel for non-residents shall be suspended until such time that the Department of Tourism (DOT) allows accommodation establishments to accept guests.

For now, only local tourism or staycation for residents, and essential/business or work-related travels are allowed.

Those individuals with pre-approved travels and with issued QTPs are advised to re-book or cancel their travel for now, “we apologize for the inconvenience, as we hurdle through these challenging times in ensuring the health and safety of everyone,” the City Public Information Office added.
