Ballesteros, Cagayan – A member of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) community has been stabbed to death by 3 minors in Ballesteros, Cagayan on Sunday, January 8.

Kent Bryle Misador, 25, a resident of Appari, Cagayan was taken to Ballesteros District hospital by Ballesteros police following the attack but was later pronounced dead.

The victim sustained eight stab wounds that resulted in his immediate death.

Prior to the incident, police said the victim who came from Manila checked in at a hotel in the area and met with the three suspects, of which, one was his former student.

During the meet-up, Misador and the suspects later had an argument which led to the stabbing incident.

The victim even got the chance to flee but was chased by the suspects.

Misador was then seen bathing with his own blood by a barangay official at 11:25 on the said date and reported the incident to the police.

At the crime scene, a ‘balisong’ knife was recovered and an android phone which helped authorities in the identification of the suspects.

The unnamed suspects were all minors, one of them is 17 years old while the two others are both 15 years old. They are all residents of Abulug, Cagayan.

Police said the suspects will still be charged with murder cases even if they are still juveniles.
