Balbalan, Kalinga―Local Government Unit of Balbalan provided PhP1.65 million worth of school supplies to the Department of Education (DEPED)-Balbalan as assistance to the needs of the schools for the modular system of learning as a response in containing the spread of the infectious COVID-19 virus in the municipality.

As stated in Balbalan Shines, Balbalan District Supervisor requested the assistance in a Kapehan meeting for the reproduction of modules as the DepEd-Kalinga does not have enough resources for their reproduction.

With this, Mayor Eric Gonayon and Vice Mayor Atty. Winifredo Agapito granted the request of the DepEd-Balbalan District to assist them in the reproduction of modules needed by their students.

To date, said LGU provided rims of bond papers, 2 units of Duplicator Machines (or Xerox Machines) and rounds of computer inks for modular reproduction.

The school supplies were already delivered to schools, while some others are still waiting for delivery at the Town Hall.
