LGU Tanudan gets more medical and transport vehicles to strengthen emergency response

Tanudan, Kalinga - After the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tanudan received their 2 newly released and fully equipped ambulances amounting to 6 million for the Rural Health Unit of Tanudan and Tanudan District Hospital, Mayor Jaedick dagadag said they actually need more to increase the strength of their emergency response.

The said procurement of 2 medical vehicles was requested and was granted by Senator Bong Go through the Department of Budget and Management (DBM)-Regional Office CAR Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) in October 2020.

Mayor Jaedicke Dagadag said in interview that the release of the vehicles is timely for the needs of their health facilities since the municipality lacks vehicles to be used.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the LGU is buying 2 pick-up vehicles for the Municipal Welfare Development Office (MSWDO) and Municipal Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO). Additionally, another ambulance is being requested from Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

“Duwa nga pick-up diyay nagapo ti pondo ti LGU baka tatta nga February ta isu ka pay nga tumulong nga agkarga ti relief goods nu kasanu ti aldaw. Adda pay ti baring nu adda pay ti maysa nga ited ti PCSO nga ambulance, nagrequest tayo metten, diyay lang mang follow up,” he said.

Dagadag said that he considered the acquisition of vehicles as one of his priorities seeing that it would be of big help to the community considering the rough road and distant barangays.

Dagadag explained that with the right type of transport and their availability, the LGU is certain to have lesser problems with transportation for medical emergencies and disaster related activities.
