Tabuk City, Kalinga – With unemployment rate ticking up, iKalinga job seekers are given another platform to get hired tomorrow, September 13, at the Kalinga Sports Complex, Provincial Capitol in Bulanao.
As of April 2025, the unemployment rate in the country was at 4.1%, this is higher than the 4.0 in April 2024.
DOLE Kalinga Senior Officer Emmanuel Barcellano, in an interview, informed that the job fair is one of the activities lined up in the ‘Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat’ program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.—an initiative to celebrate his birthday by providing incentives, distributing resources, and launching support programs.
The job fair will feature variety of job vacancies including local, private and overseas employment opportunities. Hence, Barcellano is calling on iKalingas looking for a job to take the chance to get hired.
“We are inviting all jobseekers to again, take this opportunity para makahanap ng trabaho kasi nga job fair naman yan—local and may isang overseas. For them to be prepared na rin, ready kasi if they want to be hired on the spot, dapat talaga mag-ready sila—prepare themselves para ma-qualify sila outright. Basta lahat ng mga willing na jobseekers jan, they’re all invited—wala namang particular group or class ang job fair na yan. Lahat ng mga interested, all can come to participate sa job fair,” invited Barcellano.
The DOLE-Kalinga officer added that job seekers attending the event are advised to prepare for interviews and bring complete documents as immediate hiring may happen if requirements are met.
“Ang advice natin diyan is to prepare lalo na sa interview ng mga employers kasi dadaan at dadaan parin naman sila doon. Prepare the requirements, lalo na yung mga birth certificate nila, ID nila, clearance kasi kung minsan pag nakita ang mga yan, pwede na kasi kompleto na,” he said.
Other activities to be featured includes Tupad, GIP and JobStart payouts, livelihood awarding, and CDSP orientation, among others.
