Lubuagan, Kalinga – To prevent the spread of Dengue in Lubuagan, surveillance and larvae collection will be conducted in the different barangays from June 14-16, 2022. This is according to Nurse Ceasar Manalwap, Data Manager of Lubuagan Rural Health Unit.

Manalwap said they wanted to make sure cases are controlled as there are also 5 dengue incidents recorded in the municipality from January to May this year.

Dengue surveillance and larvae collection are a way for the office to detect and destroy breeding grounds of mosquitoes carrying the virus.

Manalwap added that there will be a clean-up drive in the different barangays to aid in the effort against Dengue.

RHU-Lubuagan is also conducting Information Education Campaign in home and school visits to encourage the public to practice the 4-S in dengue prevention - Search and destroy, Self-protection measures, Seek early consultation, and Support fogging/spraying. “We also encourage school teachers to let their students wear long and loose clothing,” Manalwap added.
