Poblacion, Lubuagan – Lubuagan Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus informed through a virtual interview that the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lubuagan is already having initial deliberations about the allotment of CoViD-19 vaccine for the municipality.

Last January 25, 2021, the Municipal Inter-Agency Task Force (MIATF) of Lubuagan convened to tackle the importance of procuring their own CoViD-19 vaccines aside from receiving vaccines from the National Government.

Given the evidence of COVID-19 infections among healthcare personnel, Dickpus said that once the plan is approved and vaccines are available, the LGU shall prioritize health workers as they are more at risk of being exposed to the disease while continuing to be in the front line of the LGU's fight against the pandemic.

“Agpayso dijay ited ti national government ngem baka kurang met lang, so we plan to procure our own for our health workers in case nga maladaw dijay ited ti national government kadatayo. We are still researching as to the brand, but we plan to allot 1 million pesos to be sourced out from our Calamity Fund. Manayunan met lang nu kailangan,” said Dickpus.

She likewise informed that the LGU is also leaning toward giving vaccination to constituents ages 60 and older after all health workers are vaccinated “(Ta) dagitoy senior citizen, isu da met ti nalaka nga maakaran.”

Asked if she would get herself vaccinated, she said “Ket nu kailangan a nga agpavaccine tayo ket agpavaccine tayo a ta datayo met ti exposed nga maysa ta adu ti tao nga makasang-sango tayo,” she expressed.

The mayor is hopeful that the LGU’s endeavor will materialize as vaccination is the only tool to stop the spread of the disease in the community.

“We shall always work for the betterment of Lubuagan. We understand that people are getting tired of lockdowns, ta nu no movement kunam ket it means limited met ti panagtrabaho tayo. But we cannot also ignore the fact nga adda nga kanayon ti CoViD whether we like it or not, so we need those vaccines. Isu nga aramiden tayo ti amin tapnu malappedan dagitoy nga bad scenarios brought by the pandemic,” she expressed.

Meanwhile, Vice Mayor Victor Dickly said that the Sangguniang Bayan supports the plan to procure vaccines informing that they have also been discussing the plan during their previous sessions and shall be deliberating on it again when restrictions ease in the municipality.
