Lubuagan extends local taxes, fees, business registration deadline

Lubuagan, Kalinga – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lubuagan has extended the deadline for the payment of local taxes, renewal, and registration of business permits and other charges after the request of Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus was approved by the Sangguniang Bayan.


The Sanggunian Bayan responded to the request through resolution numbered 03, series 2022 stating that iLubuagens can pay their taxes and business contributions without penalties and other related charges until February 28, 2022.


Mayor Dickpus, through an interview with Guru Press Cordillera, said that the move is to provide some time to assist taxpayers to cope with their net losses.

Most businesses in Lubuagan were forced to close down as restrictions were imposed to control the spread of the Coronavirus disease.

Dickpus expressed gratitude to the SB members for granting the request at the same time commending the collective efforts and unity of all the public servants of Lubuagan government unit to recognize the tax-paying sectors' role in reviving the economy.

“Our business community– the backbone of our economy also needs consideration now. They were the most affected. Ken ammo tayo met nga through dagiti taxes nga baybayadan da ket umili met laeng ti agnumar,” Mayor Dickpus further explained.


After February 28, however, a two percent (2%) surcharge monthly interest shall be applied to unpaid taxes.
