Updated: Dec 4, 2021

Lubuagan, Kalinga - The Municipal Health Office (MHO) of Lubuagan has come to a conclusion that their implementation of the National Vaccination Days from November 29 to December 01, 2021, was a success.

MHO Officer Dr. Caroline Agyao also said that the outcome of the 3-day vaccination activity was a realization that the acceptance of the locals towards the anti-COVID-19 vaccines seems to have improved.

“Comparing idiay normal daily vaccination tayo ket nakita tayo a medyo aware-en dagiti tattao… nag-increase iti number of persons a na-inoculate,” she said.

The MHO tallied 74 COVID-19 vaccine recipients on the first day of the National Vaccination Day, 127 on the second day, and 103 on the third compared to their normal vaccination record number of persons inoculated that usually counts from 30 to 100 a day.

A total of 304 COVID vaccine beneficiaries were documented in the 3-day vaccination event.

COVID vaccines administered were Pfizer Biotech received by 193 iLubuagen, Moderna received by 98 persons, Coronavac (Sinovac) received by 12 iLubuagens and 1 recipient received Astrazeneca vaccine; all of which are a summary of 1st to final doses, including booster shots.

MHO Public Health Associate Nurse Ceasar Manalwap meantime informed that the majority of their daily jabs during the 3-day National Vaccination days are under the pediatric population.

He further expressed the MHO’s gratitude to the LGU’s different line agencies stating their “sincerest thanks to all who have volunteered during the National Bayanihan Bakunahan Vaccination Days: the PNP-Lubuagan, BFP-Lubuagan, BJMP, Barangay Officals, Lubuagan National High School, Dangoy Elementary School and Mabongtot Elementary School and the entire Lubuagan LGU.”

In a separate interview, Lubuagan Mayor Charisma Anne Dickpus commended the determination of all the government servants of the LGU, especially those in the health sector, for continuously striving and never giving up boosting the vaccination target rate of Lubuagan. She said that their contribution is vital to the LGU’s goal to transition to a new normal as well as to achieve herd immunity.

Mayor Dickpus likewise reminded the importance of the vaccines and reiterated their efficacy, saying these have undergone thorough study.

“Mayat iti rikna nga adu metten iti ma-encourage nga agpa-vaccine.
